Laminate subfloor
When you decide to install laminate floor, you must first meet all the requirements for perfect installation. One of the most important requirements for perfect installation is the subfloor surface. Laminate floors can be installed on most of the surfaces that are dry, flat, solid and clean. When renovating the room, you can install the laminate over the old hardwood floor or over the worn out textile covering, but there must be no larger niches or protrusions. If the old surface is partly uneven, it must first be evened out with the surrounding surface in order to get as even a surface as possible. If you are installing laminate on fresh concrete, you must make sure it is dry.
Insulations between subfloor and laminate floorIf you are installing laminate on mineral surfaces, it is necessary to first put humidity penetration insulation wide at least 0.2 mm. In order to successfully create sound and heat insulation, it is recommendable to put some laminate floor underlayment.
Underlayment can be polyester, thin rolled cork, but most often 2 mm wide polyethylene foils are used. By putting these foils prior to laminate installation, you lower the sounds of walking along with the possibility of its transmission to other rooms, increase thermal insulation, at the same time evening out some of the bumps on the surface where you will install the laminate floor.
